“Ursone delineates intimate details of the world around us to produce focussed views of stark quietude —illustrating the power of Nature to transport us.”
—Jonathan Kuhn, Director of Arts & Antiquities, New York City
"My work reflects a sense of place which for me is most often in New York City and the Coast of Maine. Distinct environments but equally effected by weather, light, and atmosphere. Working in and around New York harbor I was astounded to see how nature intrudes itself in the most gritty seemingly inhospitable industrial landscapes, inviting us to look closer and find the beauty. In comparison the natural beauty in Maine is so spectacular the challenge is to find a personal way to distill and record it. As I paint the world around me I’m reminded of a favorite quote by the painter Giorgio Morandi…”Nothing is more abstract than reality.”
